Termite Control

Cleanspace Termite Treatments

We use knowledge of the building envelope and air movement to temporarily seal the primary air leakage points. For limited containment, barriers, negative air machines and exhaust fans are utilized. With your family’s health as our ultimate priority, we use Timbor which is an odorless low toxic chemical with Sodium Borate as its active ingredient. Applied properly, this borate Z based product protects the wood where insects nest eliminating present infestations and preventing future ones.

Drywood Termites

When treating for Drywood Termites, we use knowledge of the building envelope and air movement to temporarily seal the primary leakage points. We use limited containment barriers, negative air machines and exhaust fans.

Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termite colonies live 4-10 feet beneath the soil. Infestation of Subterranean Termites can travel up to one block from the point of origination. Subterranean termite signs generally include small mud-like tubes.

We use Termidor, active ingredient Fipronil which is in the flea control for dogs and cats. Termidor is used as liquid bait for the soil instead of installing bait stations that usually has a costly monthly fee.

What is the difference between Orange Oil Treatment and Timbor Treatment?

Orange Oil is a repellant, driving termites away which makes us chase the termites while treating. Timbor is non-repellent making the treatment more effective. Unless washed away, Timbor crystallizes into the wood leaving residue for ongoing protection.

Three Core benefits of Cleanspace Fumigation:

  1. Reduces cross contamination risk by securing filter fabric at primary “dirty space” entry points.
  2. Control and reduce back drafting into air and exhaust ducting using tape and seal method with protection plastic.
  3. Air scrubbing of interior breathing zones using Hepa and Carbon filters. Captures airborne particles and removes Chloropicrin (warning agent) irritant from air.

Three core problems with tent fumigation:

  1. Potential for cross contamination when air from dirty spaces is forced into living spaces.
  2. Large floor fans may backdraft particles into the structure’s air and exhaust ducting
  3. Chloropicrin (warning agent) has a poison label. Studies from the Department of Pesticide Regulations suggest that Chloropicrin can still be present two days or longer after returning to a fumigated home.
